Dear POLO,
You probably wouldn’t believe it looking at the weather right now, but it’s that time of year for the Spring newsletter, inviting you all to renew your memberships, both for playing and social members. A link to the membership renewal form is attached to this email, or alternatively you can find it on our website –
You will also find the fixture list for the season on the website, showing all the weekend matches and tournaments and our three main social events.
We are pleased to welcome Hugh Wheildon as our Polo Manager this season. You should have already had an email from him about the work parties over the Easter weekend. Hugh will be back in touch with you soon on the booking in arrangements etc. for polo this Summer. But do please get in touch with him as soon as possible to let him know your plans – either by phone on 07515 472110 or via email at

There are just a couple of new HPA requirements for the players to remember, firstly the requirement to wear an HPA approved helmet at all times, and secondly that you need to renew your HPA membership using their new online system, which should be up and running later this month.
When you first come to the Club this Summer you will notice there have been some improvements – the newly painted clubhouse, a new set of pony lines, new proper washdown bays, a much improved access track and a new toilet block. All these works are under way over the next few weeks as the weather improves.
It goes without saying that this all costs money, and it would help us greatly if you could renew your memberships as soon as possible, and get any friends and prospective new members to do likewise. I would also urge you all to look at the sponsorship brochure that appears on the website, and sets out the sponsorship opportunities, at all levels, that are so important to the overall finances of the Club. If you can think of any individuals or businesses that may be interested, do please mention it direct to them, alternatively Nii White who can be reached by phone on 07551008 479 or via email This email address is being protected from spambots. Do please ‘save the dates’ for our Womens Festival Charity Weekend on 7 and 8 July, which is part of the Women in Polo league, and the Bluejackets weekend on 18 and 19 August, which has been included in the HPA’s 4 goal Victor Ludorum series, and indeed is the last tournament in it, so there should be plenty of competitive matches.
On behalf of the committee, I think it just falls to me to wish you all an enjoyable and safe season’s polo at our unique members’ polo club.
Regards
Piers Fitzwilliams
