2018 was another huge season for Ham Polo Club. Some fantastic polo took place with tournament team entry numbers at an all time high. To top this off the long spell of hot weather produced some amazing polo conditions. We are already finalising the fixtures for 2019 for what is lining up to be another great season for Ham Polo Club. An announcement will be made in the coming month for the Christmas Party date. We do hope to see you back at the club for 2019.

Junior Academy Match
To start the afternoon's polo we had another great display of polo from the junior members at the club. Under the watchful eye of junior coach Lucy Dowie many of the players have moved on a huge amount in skill this season. We can expect big things from some of the players in the coming years.
Asprey Red Cross Trophy
The Asprey Red Cross Trophy was the second of the afternoons matches after the Junior Academy. Coco Matthews and Julian Drake both past Ham members joined with regulars Ba Pataudi and Juan Cruz Araya Martelli to form Polo Pirates. They took on Martin Hay's Quadriga with Simon Chamberlain, Ali Paterson and Garrie Renucci.
The match was a great fast paced encounter with Quadriga running out the winners.
Aylesford Trophy
With proceeds from entry to the club on Sunday going to the Gurkha Welfare Trust the Aylesford Trophy featured Braemar Farms taking on The Gurkha Welfare Trust Team. The Gurkha Welfare Trust is the leading Gurkha charity. They provide financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities.
In the match Gurkha Welfare Trust were victorious after a close game in which Braemar Farms could not capitalise in front of goal.
Watch back the Aylesford Trophy.
Farewell Cup
To end the afternoon's polo and for the final match of the 2018 Season the Farewell Cup was played as and American Tournament between Avengers, Cavaliers and Hollywood. After six fantastic chukkas Cavaliers were the winners.
For those who are not satisfied with just spectating we also offer polo lessons. Ham Polo Club has a number of HPA qualified coaches and a string of quiet school ponies for novices to learn on. The polo school offers several ways to learn the sport. This winter our head coach Jason will be running polo and lessons in an arena so you can still take up the opportunity to try our polo or brush up on your skills.
